Weather

Recently in NYC there has been heavy rain affecting many High School students such as myself. There has been difficulty with transportation due to the flooding on the streets, trains, and highways. Sho, my classmate, states “It was horrible, since I couldn’t go to school and I had to take ice showers, on top of that I didn’t have any internet.”

When you think about the weather you might not think it’s that big of a deal, but surprisingly the weather is a pretty important occurrence throughout our daily lives that could impact the things we do on a daily basis. For example, extremely hot weather could affect our moods, making us more aggressive and violent. Cold and humid weather could make us feel sad, or maybe even depressed. Additionally Ms. Chen, a crew leader, states “The weather wasn’t nice today. It was cold, humid, and I woke up sad.” We should realize that weather could affect your daily routines.

On top of that, the weather could also have physical effects on our bodies. For example, extremely cold weather could make us develop something called hypothermia, which makes our body temperature lower at rapid rates, as a result possibly leading to death, in contrast extremely hot weather could cause a heat stroke. Heat strokes are when our body temperature rises at rapid rates, which could also lead to death. Many do not know that the weather affects our bodies physically.

People can feel different emotions throughout the weather and season changes such as anger, sadness and joy. Many have different perspectives on weather making mental decisions depending whether they can either be joyful and cheerful or angry and mad such as an interviewed student who is named Enrique. According to him, “The weather was rainy and my life terrible. Waking up from this weather I felt angry.”

Mornings can be great sometimes if you are willing to go to work or school. If not willing to do the jobs or learning they can turn out to be stressful and tiring. You may not have much energy once you wake up, needing to take coffee or some type of energy drink to boost your energy, or some will just keep being tired.  According to a student, Austin, “Today was sunny, but a bit windy. Waking up from this weather I felt very tired.” Mornings are mostly sunny or windy or both, but the sun can’t really do anything about our tiredness.
