There is a life risking trend circulating around social media called “Subway Surfing”.
This trend is known to be popular because people approach on top of these subway trains and they record themselves doing it. Sometimes people will be either still or dance on top of these moving trains.
However, this trend got so out of hand that it inspired multiple people to do this and it resulted in injuries and even deaths around these subway systems.
Here is what Edwin, a student at Leaders, has to say about this topic:
- Should Subway Surfing Be Allowed?
Edwin: “No, because most parents and friends wouldn’t want them to die from subway surfing; this shouldn’t be allowed.”
- What do you think inspires subway surfing?
Edwin: “I think Social Media Inspires this since the human brain would like to do what other people think that is cool and they would want to fit in. Since people want to fit in, there could be people who would please us to do these dangerous activities.”
- What would people do in order to prevent subway surfing?
Edwin: “Give them life in prison, raise alerts, don’t encourage others to subway surf.”
In conclusion, Subway Surfing is dangerous. Doing this not only risks your life and risks your loved ones having to mourn for you if you die, it also encourages other people to do this dangerous stunt and it becomes a linked chain.
