During community meeting on February 5, we went to crews and interviewed them while playing an initiative. The crew I interviewed was Ms. Edward’s crew. The initiative we played was Four Corners and while the crew played this game I interviewed some people individually. Below are some quotes that show what the people in this crew appreciate about their crew and just their experience with their crew.
Crew
Ms. Edwards is the crew leader of this amazing 9th grade crew. She is such a sweet person and is an amazing teacher. She is open-minded, listens to everyone and is just a supportive person. She said “crew is the best part of being a teacher and it’s why I continue to be a teacher and it’s the best part of my day.” She said she is excited to see her crew grow and what interests they have and just how they grow as people.
Appreciations
When interviewing this crew I noticed that they are really close to each other like a family. Emily even said that her crew has impacted her in a positive way because they are like a second family to her. They’ve also learned a lot from each other which they will carry with them throughout highschool and I think that it’s a big part in having a crew. Aziza learned to not disrespect each other, while Edwin learned to not be afraid to interact with people. They all care about each other and are all so nice and supportive, according to what everyone I interviewed said.
Memories
A memorable memory that most people I interviewed said was when they went on a camping trip and sang “Call Me Maybe” for an activity. They said it was really fun and everyone enjoyed it. They said it was memorable because they enjoyed just spending time together.
Crew Trip?
The people I interviewed had a lot of amazing ideas for some crew trips they would like to go on. For instance, Aziza said she would like to go to Six Flags or American Dream. Emily said she would like to go bowling. Ms Edwards and Edwin had the same idea and would love to go to an escape room. I think all these ideas show how this crew is really outgoing and open minded.
Shoutouts:
Aziza: “Musa because he is really good at algebra and I want to be like him.”
Edwin: “Musa because he is really smart and I want to be like him.”
Ms Edwards: “My whole crew because they are really kind to each other, and are understanding, they are always down to do any initiative, and they are all open minded.”
Overall my time with Ms. Edward’s crew was amazing. They were all so sweet and open minded and I appreciated that everyone was listening and participating. I really enjoyed working with them and my time with them was really fun. I hope that this crew has a fun and amazing experience throughout high school and I wish them all the best.
