Predictions for 2025
2024 is coming to an end and boy was it random. Now, I’m wondering, what are your predictions for 2025?
In the political realm of the United States, there are many possibilities that can happen. According to Anthony Guilliani, a senior at Leaders, Donald Trump might die. According to Tommy Riehl, Crew Leader and ELA 11th grade Teacher, ICE agents will appear more around the country. A 10th and 11th grader, D and Malik says that financial issues/economic problems will occur. The 11th grade English teacher, Mr. Price says that we will all challenge Donald Trump to build more unions in America. Mr. Fontes said Donald Trump will hopefully not go with his plans that he has mentioned in his elections.
In terms of NYC, people aren’t happy with what 2025 has to offer. Oscar Morales, a freshman at Leaders, says that the prices in NYC will be more expensive to the point where there’ll be less people with bags of food. Our librarian, Ms. Lichty says that a new mayor will be elected. Also according to her, New Yorkers will become more involved with issues that matter to them. Aiman, another junior, says that taxes might increase. Mr. Anderson said Brooklyn will have bigger events within communities.
In terms of companies, Sohaib, a 10th grader says that tariffs will get worse to the point that companies will make average citizens pay more for products.
In terms of celebrities and pop icons of the United States, Albion, a local 11th grader says that there’ll be a documentary on a cancelled celebrity which might go hand-hand to what local persona loving Aiden says, that a celebrity will get found as a child predator.
In terms of weather, local senior Austin says that this summer will be pretty hot. Mr. Anderson, says it will be really hot and really cold in Brooklyn.
In terms of science, our own 9th grade science teacher, Mr. Sadoff says we might hear more about cowpox.
In terms of immigration laws, senior Vanessa had this to say: a lot of people without permanent citizenship will struggle with paying for college because of the FAFSA policy change. The 11th grader, Parezay, says more racism and deportation.
In terms of wars and other problematic things, Amber from the 11th grade states that terrorists are gonna affect the economy negatively. Two ninth graders named Melisa and Josephina say WWIII will happen.
In terms of our school community, Ms. Mildred says Yondr pouches will be removed.
In terms of gender, the senior Kiara says Trump will ban rights for trans-people to do surgery.
So these are just some predictions from students and staff at Leaders High School. Let’s just hope some of these don’t become reality!
